Cyberpunk 2077 will go down in history as a game that had one of the most disappointing launches in the industry’s history, even though the end product has plenty of positive qualities.
While the PC version was fine, the PS4 version ran so poorly and was plagued by a ton of bugs, leading to Sony removing it from the PlayStation Store.
Following the launch on December 10, 2020, the game lasted just over a week before Sony pulled the game from the store on December 18, 2020.
At the time of writing, that makes it over 90 days since the game was removed. Whilst it's still available to buy in shops, others can't be blamed for wondering when the digital version will return.
When Will Cyberpunk Be Back On The PS Store?
Since the game was pulled, fans have been wondering when Cyberpunk 2077 would be coming back to the PS Store, as neither Sony nor CD Projekt Red has given a definitive date, despite updates that have made the current-gen version a little better.
Fans were expecting to see Cyberpunk 2077 return to the PS Store in February as that was when the games second big update was due to launch.
More recently the developer provided an update on the 1.2 update, which could still arrive in March.
The 1.2 patch is meant to fix a massive number of the game's biggest bugs and problems. But whether that is good enough to see the game reinstated isn't a guarantee.
While the PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 is still a bit of a mess, it’s worth noting that the game actually plays decently on a PS5, running at an impressive 60fps with much quicker loading times.
Granted, playing the PS4 version on a PS5 still means that there are a few bugs in there but if you’re lucky enough to have the next-gen console then you should definitely play the game here.
It’s possible that Cyberpunk 2077 won’t return to the PlayStation Store until the PS5 version comes out.
The only problem is that the next-gen update could still be months away.
