Cyberpunk 2077: Watch the new ‘Lifepaths’ featurette

CD Projekt Red released a trio of Cyberpunk 2077 featurettes on Monday. Each of the videos offers a fresh look at the hotly anticipated RPG.

“The ​‘Lifepaths’ featurette takes an in-depth look at the different backstories players will be able to choose for V, the main character of ​Cyberpunk 2077,” the Polish developer said in a press release. “Each path provides a distinct introduction to Night City and influences V’s experiences throughout the game.”

The names of the “paths” in question are Corpo, Nomad, and Street Kid. A Street Kid is somebody who grew up causing trouble and running from cops in Night City. Nomads live out in the desert countryside; they choose who to call family. And Corpos live and die by the politics of the megacorps.

If you’re looking to delve into the lore of Cyberpunk before the game hits, Dark Horse Books has just released The World of Cyberpunk 2077, written by Marcin Batylda. It’s a 192-page, in-universe look at the characters and history of Night City.

The game itself is set to release on November 19, 2020, for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Versions for Google Stadia, PS5, and Xbox Series X will follow, with PS4 and Xbox One players getting access to a free upgrade to the next-gen version when those become available.
