Cyberpunk Dataminer Finds Evidence of New DLC Story Quests

We know CD Projekt RED is committed to supporting Cyberpunk 2077 in the coming months, but the first Cyberpunk 2077 DLC episode could be happening sooner than we thought.

Prominent Cyberpunk 2077 dataminer romulus_is_here found hundreds of references to new story and street quests in Cyberpunk 1.2’s patch files and spoke with Eurogamer about what it means.

The base Cyberpunk 2077’s file names for story quests run use “q” to denote file type and run up through q204.

However, Romulus found several story quest files connected to a q301 listing named “story-ep1.”

Romulus believes this represents a set of files for the first major Cyberpunk 2077 DLC episode.

Cyberpunk Dataminer Finds Evidence of New DLC Story Quests

But that’s not the only evidence of Cyberpunk 2077’s incoming DLC he found.

Romulus found traces of new street stories buried in these “story-ep1” files, including new dialogue for NPCs.

More importantly, these stories and main quests primarily revolve around Night City’s Pacifica region, including a new location called Newcomers Haven, new characters, and more, with Mr Hands giving out at least some of the quests.

That makes sense, considering Pacifica’s fixer Mr Hands offered fewer quests in the base game, and a significant portion of the region was inaccessible.

CDPR made no comment when Eurogamer inquired about the files.

While that suggests there’s probably an announcement coming in the next few months — presumably after Cyberpunk 2077 1.3 — these should still be treated as rumors until CDPR confirms otherwise.
