Robinhood Appears To Be Listing Shiba Inu Coin

Robinhood has finally listed Shiba Inu Coin, following months of pressure from SHIB holders.

First posted by Cryptocurrency Alerting, the official Robinhood site now has a page that lets users buy SHIB.

Robinhood Lists Shiba Inu Coin

After years of only trading a few cryptocurrencies, Robinhood now has added SHIB to its platform.

The Robinhood page for SHIB displays the price next to a 'Buy Shiba Inu (SHIB)' widget. It also prompts users to sign up to buy SHIB. The site states: "Sign up for a Robinhood Crypto Account to buy or sell Shiba Inu commission-free."

Initially, users were uncertain as to whether Robinhood had actually opened up SHIB trading. Posts from Reddit suggest the Buy and Sell buttons do not yet work, but some Twitter users confirmed they had bought SHIB through Robinhood.

A couple of hours after the news broke, Robinhood confirmed it listed SHIB, alongside Solana, Polygon, and Compound. Its crypto FAQ now lists Shiba Inu, while the platform also shared a tweet confirming the news.

Reports from the Shiba Discord have speculated that a transaction that unstaked 1 trillion SHIB ($22 million) on April 11 could have been Robinhood preparing for the listing. This has not been confirmed, however.

To celebrate the new listing, Robinhood is also giving away $10 in SHIB to a select group of users.

The Shiba Inu team, who were surprised by the Robinhood listing, also celebrated the news. In a series of tweets, Shiba Growth member Milkshake praised the community efforts. She said:

In less than two years, we have been listed in every major exchange and platform. Shiba Inu has changed the way I see crypto forever.

This is everyone's effort. This is what this community is capable of. Never underestimate it and never seek to doubt the strength of the ShibArmy. We accomplish more when we are united, and together.

The impact of Robinhood listing SHIB has already impacted SHIB's price. Shiba Inu jumped 25% in four hours as a result of the Robinhood news.
