Warzone: What Is Shadow Ban?

Call of Duty: Warzone is a popular free-to-play game but due to how easy it is to access the game, it’s become something of a home for many hackers and cheaters.

There’s nothing worse than playing a game and suddenly getting killed by someone with a gun that shouldn’t dish out that much damage or not being able to take down another player since they can’t take any damage.

Warzone: What Is Shadow Ban?

It’s not a great situation but Activision does have a fun way of punishing these players; giving them the shadow ban.

For those unaware, the Warzone shadow ban is when Activision places cheaters and hackers in the same game room where they can only play with other cheaters.

It’s hell for these cheaters and hackers so knowing that Activision takes them away from other players is really nice, though we wish it happened more often.

Having to report cheaters and waiting for the devs to see these reports then ban the players in question can take time, which can mean death to a hacker or two before anything else happens.

Knowing that their accounts are forever compromised and they can only fight people who cheat like they do is a fun kind of punishment, though we’re sure that these people will make some new accounts and cheat again.

Still, it will take them a while before they even realize that Activision has given them the Warzone shadow ban so players can enjoy shooting their friends without having to worry about these hackers.

Warzone will continue to be a hotbed for cheaters and hackers, which tends to happen when you have a multiplayer game that’s readily available for everyone to access, but the shadow ban should help alleviate those annoyances.

Hopefully, future updates will continue to block these annoying players and send them to the shadow (ban) realm.

Call of Duty: Warzone is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
