Ever since it was released sometime after Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: Warzone has been a big hit with gamers everywhere. We’re about to enter Warzone Season 2 alongside Black Ops Cold War Season 2 and fans are excited to try out all of the new content that will appear in both games. All good things come to an end, however, and many fans are wondering when they will have to stop playing Warzone, especially since there will be a new Call of Duty game this year.
Call of Duty: What Will Happen to Warzone After Black Ops Cold War Support Ends?
That shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone since Activision releases a new game of the series every year so it's only a matter of time before you start hearing about Call of Duty 2021 or whatever it ends up being called. Fans probably shouldn’t be worried though because Warzone is still a big money-maker for Activision and the fact that it still receives support now while Modern Warfare no longer gets updates is proof of that.
Chances are if you still have a copy of Modern Warfare and it's getting hefty updates, that’s for Warzone. There hasn’t been any news on Modern Warfare Season 7 and with the amount of support Black Ops Cold War is getting, it’s easy to see that Warzone is a bigger priority over the 2019 shooter.
Admittedly, those hefty Warzone updates probably help Modern Warfare a little bit. It’s safe to assume that they will remove some bugs, fix some glitches, and maybe even improve the internet stability. Still, those are just fixes and not new content so chances are that Warzone will be getting more than improvements after Call of Duty 2021 comes out.
Call of Duty: Warzone Season 2 is coming to the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on February 25. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 2 is also coming out on the same date so expect some shared content.
