Although the Vanguard cycle is starting to wind down, Sledgehammer Games continues to apply improvements to multiplayer and Zombies alongside adding new content to the game. Ahead of the Season 4 Reloaded update, the developer has added another melee weapon to the expanding arsenal.

Rather than making changes to the current weapon balance, the Vanguard July 14 update makes slight adjustments to the function of Throwing Knives and Blueprint Gun Game to improve the length of matches.

Find all of the changes made to the game in the Vanguard July 14 update patch notes in this guide containing all the important details.

Vanguard July 14 Update Patch Notes

With no need to spend time downloading the update, all you need to do is load Vanguard to apply the changes. The game will prompt a restart but once you've loaded back into the game, you're ready to get back into the action.

Here're the full patch notes for the July 14 update:

Weapons

Push Dagger

  • A blade with a T-shaped grip that allows for increased push power. Easily concealable and deadly in CQC.
  • Complete an unlock challenge or purchase a Bundle to earn this Weapon.
    - Get 5 Melee Kills with a Primary Weapon in a Single Match 15 Times.

Equipment

Throwing Knife

  • Throwing Knives can now be thrown at the start of Search & Destroy and Control rounds.

Playlists

Blueprint Gun Game

  • Added to Quick Play filters as a permanent Playlist.
  • Reduced maximum player count from 12 to 10 to improve the average match length.

Zombies

Push Dagger

  • A blade with a T-shaped grip that allows for increased push power. Easily concealable and deadly in CQC.
  • Complete an unlock challenge or purchase a Bundle to earn this Weapon.
    - In Zombies, get 100 kills with a Melee weapon while shrouded by your Aether Shroud.

The update only contains a handful of changes which is no surprise. Other than new pieces of content, Sledgehammer Games shows no sign of applying a dose of weapon balancing meaning the meta remains somewhat stale heading into the second half of Season 4.

With Season 4 Reloaded introducing the Vargo S assault rifle into the game, will the developer issue some buffs and nerfs? Only time will tell.
