Call of Duty Vanguard Named as Second Best-Selling Game of 2021 in USA

As players get to grips with Season 1 for Call of Duty Vanguard, it's been revealed that the launch of the game has been immensely successful in the United States after a report revealed that sales of the game had dropped by 44% in the UK. While figures may have fallen on this side of the Atlantic, Vanguard has proven to be extremely popular, with the game becoming the best-selling game in November despite launching in competition with Battlefield 2042.

Vanguard topping the charts means the franchise maintains the streak for the best-selling game in its release month for the 14th consecutive year. The streak started back in 2007 with the release of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and it appears that the US market can't get enough of the franchise.

The information was unveiled by Mat Piscatella, Executive Director & Video Game Industry Advisor on December 13th. Alongside revealing the incredible success of the title in November, they also revealed that Vanguard is the "2nd best-selling game of 2021 to date" (December 13th, 2021).

Slotting in second place for November was Battlefield 2042, which is great news for Sledgehammer Games, which returned to Call of Duty development for the first time since launching Call of Duty: World War 2 back in late 2017. Vanguard has received several positive reviews thanks to its fast-paced multiplayer and popular single-player campaign while its Zombies mode developed by Treyarch has been branded as a step backward. With the festive period in full swing, there's every chance Vanguard will rank towards the top of the best-sellers list once again.
