The Best TEC-9 Black Ops Cold War Loadout

Season 5 Reloaded of Black Ops Cold War is finally underway across all platforms. The latest season of post-launch content features a range of new multiplayer maps as well as the launch of The Numbers mid-season event.

One of three new weapons that have arrived into the multiplayer arsenal is the TEC-9, a small, yet incredibly mighty, SMG capable of mowing down multiple enemies in quick succession thanks to its non-existent recoil and high damage output. Despite its high damage output, the drop-off is significant, meaning its performance at longer distances is far from ideal.

Thankfully, there are a number of attachments that can be equipped that transform the TEC-9 into one of the stronger offerings in the Black Ops Cold War SMG category. With that said, find the best TEC-9 attachments to equip as well as the best TEC-9 loadout to dominate in multiplayer!

How To Unlock

To unlock the TEC-9, simply reach Tier 31 in the Season 5 Battle Pass. For those that want to get their hands on it a bit quicker than grinding through the Tiers, purchase them by spending some COD Points. It's a costly method, but it's certainly quick.

TEC-9 Black Ops Cold War Best Attachments

There is a range of attachments that can drastically influence how the TEC-9 performs. With two barrels capable of changing the firing mechanism to burst fire or fully automatic, there are several combinations that can make an impact on the battlefield. After a bit of time experimenting, we've found the best set to equip for multiplayer.

• Barrel: 7.3" Reinforced Heavy
• Stock: Collapsed Stock
• Handle: Speed Tape
• Magazine: 30 Rnd
• Underbarrel: Red Cell Foregrip

This particular combination of attachments may seem rather unorthodox in comparison to other SMGs, but it capitalises on the TEC-9's incredible levels of mobility as well as improvements to prevent the damage range from dropping off.

The Reinforced Heavy barrel extends damage range and bullet velocity, which makes those mid-range engagements much easier to handle while the addition of the Red Cell Foregrip increases movement speed while sprinting, making it very easy to navigate the map.

Now the best attachments are sorted, it's time to look at Perk selection, choice of Secondary Weapon, and to pick the right Field Upgrade for the job.

Secondary Weapon

• Krig 6

Even though the attachments do make it easier to contest long-distance duels, you'll find yourself on the receiving end of an assault rifle regularly which is why we've selected the Krig 6 as our secondary weapon. Equipment

• Lethal: Molotov
• Tactical: Smoke Grenade

In the early stages of Season 5, many players have resorted to using the Molotov as their lethal equipment and it's clear to see why. Upon impact, the inferno deals a huge amount of damage while the fire that hits the ground lingers for several seconds, causing additional damage to anyone brave enough to walk through the flames.

It's highly likely you'll be sprinting around the map with the TEC-9 in hand which is why we've gone for the Smoke Grenade. Use it to create some cover or as a distraction as you sneak behind enemy lines to eliminate them before they have a chance to react.

Perks

• Perk 1: Tactical Mask
• Perk 2: Assassin
• Perk 3: Ninja

This combination of attachments is perfect for racking up plenty of score and catching the opposition off guard. Tactical Mask provides resistance to any tactical equipment while Assassin will give you a score bonus if you eliminate an enemy that's on a killstreak.

Lastly and by no means least is Ninja. This Perk muffles your footsteps to reduce the chance of attracting any unwanted attention to your location.

Field Upgrade

• Jammer

With many players reliant on their minimap, the Jammer is the ideal Field Upgrade to confuse and bamboozle the opposition over the course of a match. Place it in an inconspicuous corner and dispatch any targets that have reduced awareness.

Wildcard

• Law Breaker

Considering we've selected the Krig 6 alongside the TEC-9, we've had to select Law Breaker as our Wildcard. The ability to carry two primary weapons means this particular loadout is one of the most versatile in all of multiplayer.
