Battlefield 2042 Battle Royale Mode Is Necessary According To DrDisrespect

Battlefield 2042 is one of the few first-person shooters that may be released without a battle royale. Almost all games these days will feature battle royales, and there are even rumors that Halo Infinite will include the feature shortly after release. Fallout 76, Fortnite, Call of Duty Warzone, and even Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines released with battle royales.

Battlefield 2042 has yet to confirm if they will follow this trend, which is strange. A multiplayer-exclusive game like Battlefield 2042 would be a massive oversight if it didn't have this feature. There is so little information available on this mode that DrDisrespect even veered off onto a tangent regarding this mode in the game.

Will Battlefield 2042 have a battle royale mode?

Battle royale modes are as popular as it has ever been even a few years after hitting the mainstream. A well-known game that benefited greatly from battle royale modes was Fortnite. When it was in its heyday, Fortnite featured great esports names like Ninja, Tfue, NICKMERCS, and DrDisrespect.

DrDisrespect then turned to Call of Duty, which introduced Blackout mode for Black Ops IIII, and went to Call of Duty: Warzone, an exclusively Battle Royale game. Nickmercs and other Fortnite stars moved over to Call of Duty with DrDisrespect. This proves how popular that multiplayer mode is, so it should come as no surprise that the biggest competitor to Call of Duty should have it.

While the trailer for Battlefield 2042 launched with great enthusiasm, the game will not have a campaign mode or battle royale mode upon launch. Apparently, many of the Battlefield fans were not supportive of a battle royale mode, so DICE didn't put one in. The two-time was not quiet about this turn of events either.

"Are you guys idiots? BR is just getting started, so much you can do, so many different engines, so many different fictions, and games and designs. The hell are you guys talking about? These are the same people that are trapped in a box. I want the multiplayer but I also want BR too, especially on that engine."
