The indie love letter to classic 3D platformers Yooka-Laylee, is ready for its big comeback on October 9th, 2025, with the worldwide launch of Yooka-Replaylee. The game will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The game is a neat upgraded version of the original Yooka-Laylee, with tons of shiny new bells and whistles. Playtonic has gone above and beyond to "peel, polish, and power-bounce" the game into its final form. For starters, the graphics have received a complete overhaul with a new art and animation style, alongside enhanced performance and resolution, so Yooka and Laylee have never looked or moved better.

The gameplay has also received a massive tune-up. Revamped controls and a camera to make everything feel much snappier and more modern. To make navigating the world easier, they've introduced a brand-new map and collectibles tracker, and a new character named (book)Mark, who acts as a personal warp point and guide.

In terms of content, the changes are just as big. The old minigames are gone, replaced with a brand-new "Rextro's Arcade" that features fresh isometric platforming challenges. There's even a new collectible currency for you to gather and a whole new line of merchandise at Vendi's to give your character a fresh look.

Whether you’re a nostalgic lover of old 3D-platformers or a new player meeting Yooka and Laylee for the first time, Yooka-Replaylee will definitely be the best way of experiencing this beloved indie. If you're a returning fan, you get a special treat: a 30% discount when you purchase it on the same platform you owned the original game. Speaking of which, the game will retail for $30 on its digital format and $50 for those who want to buy it physically. It will include extra goodies for those hardcore collectors.

Pre-orders are live in sites like Amazon, Video Games Plus (Canada), and PNP Games
