  • Quick Answer: Ashley Burch will not reprise Chloe Price in Life is Strange: Reunion. Rhianna DeVries now voices Chloe.

When Deck Nine announced the sequel to Double Exposure, fans were hoping to see Ashley Burch reprise her role as Chloe Price in Life is Strange: Reunion. As the first voice talent to Chloe, she was met with positive acclaim for capturing the authenticity of a teenager with a mix of vulnerability and rebellion. Her final dialogue in the iconic Episode 5 ending of the first Life is Strange was a standout moment for her character, and Burch delivered her performance with emotional weight. She quickly became a fan-favorite among the community, all thanks to both Don’t Nod’s writing and Burch’s performance.

Ashley Burch, the original voice actor behind Chloe Price’s character in the first Life is Strange game, wasn’t asked to return to the series.

In an interview with Ashley Burch on Eurogamer, Burch “...wasn’t asked to reprise [her] role as Chloe.” She also added that she had no idea the iconic Life is Strange character was being brought back in Reunion and only learned about it at the same time as the fans.

In Life is Strange: Before the Storm, Burch didn’t return to voice Chloe’s character. Instead, it was given to actress Rhianna DeVries. In a Reddit thread from 8 years ago, DeVries praised Burch’s performance as Chloe Price, saying “stepping into her shoes was a scary thing for [her].” Fortunately, DeVries’ performance was met with the same positive reception Burch had in the original.

Burch later returned in Before the Storm’s Farewell DLC in 2017, but only for that performance. Now, DeVries has been a series mainstay as she is now officially Deck Nine’s Chloe Price.

Ashley Burch is one of the prominent people behind the SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) strike. One of their union’s goals was to address the video game industry’s use of AI. It was the official reason why she didn’t reprise her role as Chloe Price in Before the Storm.

While there are no more SAG-AFTRA strikes at the moment, users are still wondering why she didn’t return as the iconic blue-haired partner to Max Caulfield. Some users speculate that Square Enix, Deck Nine’s publishing partner, “could no longer afford to bring back Burch due to her union ties.”

Although some fans prefer Rhianna DeVries’ voice as Chloe, there are still others who want to see Burch return. Unfortunately for fans expecting her to come back, that ship has long sailed.

Life is Strange: Reunion is scheduled to release on March 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
