GTA 6 will finally launch this holiday season, putting an end to years and years of speculation and waiting. Players will get to experience a brand-new story with Jason and Lucia as dual protagonists, set in the fictional state of Leonida, a parody of Florida in the United States.

Although the campaign is something many are itching to try, that's not the only incentive behind the game's hype. With how successful GTA 5 Online has been in its almost 13-year run, some players are excited for the next iteration. Here is what we know about the release of GTA 6's Online mode.

When Does GTA 6 Online Come Out?

At the time of writing, Rockstar hasn't announced a release date for GTA 6's Online mode.

Neither Rockstar nor Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar's parent company) has acknowledged that this new title will feature a new iteration of GTA Online. However, given how successful the online mode has been in the past decade, it's almost impossible to think that Rockstar isn't preparing a multiplayer mode for their upcoming baby.

In a blog post on their website, the studio clearly stated that the game "is a single-player experience", eliminating any possibilities of seeing a GTA 6 Online at launch.

Veteran players weren't expecting this either, since Rockstar tends to release the online mode for their games after the initial launch. GTA 5's multiplayer went live two weeks after the game's original launch, while Red Dead Online came out a month after Red Dead Redemption 2's release.

With that history in mind, we expect to see an online mode sometime in December of 2026. This is only our prediction, meaning we will have to wait for an official announcement from Rockstar to get a confirmation.

GTA 6 is scheduled to come out on Thursday, November 19, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version hasn't been announced, but that is something we expect to launch in the future.
