It’s that time of the year again where gamers around the globe vote for the Golden Joystick Awards. Now in its 33rd year, these awards are also known as the People’s Gaming Awards. It is one of the oldest award ceremonies as voted for by the British general public and has changed over time as platforms came and went. Last year a record breaking 9 million votes were casted.
Gfinity are sponsoring the eSports Icon category and you only have one week left to make your opinion count, so head over to the voting page if you haven’t already done that. There are players and casters from CS:GO, LoL, Dota 2 and Smite contending for the award. Although we were unable to provide any input into the shortlist of nominees, we are still delighted that we are able to support the development of the eSports scene once again and welcome other people's views on who's hot and who's not.
The lovely folks over at PCGAMER have posted an insightful overview, explaining all the nominees within the category of the eSports icons. You can read it here.
