2025 is coming to an end, which means a new year of content is starting soon in Valorant. Season 2025 Act 1 is the next season in the calendar and will likely bring several changes and additions, as it happens at the start of every year.
While we wait for the new year to start and for announcements from Riot Games about the content we can expect, we already have the start date for the upcoming Season 2026 Act 1.
When Does Valorant Season 2026 Act 1 Start?
Season 2026 Act 1 of Valorant is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, January 6, or Wednesday, January 7, depending on the region you currently play.
All the new content will be added through a new patch, possibly version 12.00. The update will roll out on January 6 at 6:00 AM PT for North America, LATAM, and Brazil servers. European players will have to wait a bit more as the rollout usually begins the next day (January 7) at 4:00 AM GMT.
Given that this is the first update of the year, a maintenance period could take place before players are able to enjoy the new content. If that's the case, Riot will announce that through their server status website.
What Can We Expect from the New Season?
Although a big meta change was implemented right after Champions Paris 2025, we expect more fine-tuning among the agents. The start of a new season is a great opportunity for Riot to introduce even more changes that alter the current meta significantly.
Although there have been no teasers as of now, we are also expecting either a new map for the classic mode or a new agent, since that kind of content usually arrives at the start of a new year. With the latest agent, Veto, being released back in October, and the latest map in June, players are due for one or the other.
New features or quality-of-life additions are not off the table, but it's hard to predict what the developers are working on specifically.
