Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas is now live on PC and Mac, but won't be live on consoles until later this week. The countdown timer below should give you an idea of what time the new season will launch on consoles.

That was quite a lot to take in but now Grinding Gear Games have revealed in full their next big update: Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas.

Though we'd recommend watching the trailer below for a deeper look at the changes set to come to the game, the crux is that this expansion introduces new pinnacle bosses, the Archnemesis Challenge league and revamps Path of Exile’s endgame systems.

Here's a quick overview of the new storyline:

As noted before, the developers have reworked Path of Exile’s endgame to increase its depth while taking out the busywork present in its previous incarnation.

"We’ve removed the Atlas’ regions and have introduced a new Atlas-wide passive skill tree which enables you to specialise in playing whatever type of content you like best, and bolstering both its difficulty and reward," Bex, the Community Manager confirmed.

With the Siege of the Atlas full reveal right around the corner, the developers have been sharing a few tidbits of info. So far we've seen a rework of the Dancing Dervish Unique Item as well as a new item named Crystallised Omniscience Onyx Amulet. Details of both can be seen just below:

A neat change coming in the 3.17 Update has been announced ahead of time. The Map Stash Tab has a dedicated sub-tab for your Elder Guardian, Shaper and Conqueror Maps (seen below).

The devs have announced they'll be introducing two new sets of Supporter Pack themes when the Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas livestream takes place! This of course means that there are now under two weeks left to purchase the existing Expedition Supporter Packs before they leave the store for good. At the time of writing there are two pairs of Expedition Supporter Packs available in the store; the Soulkeeper Supporter Pack and the Aesir Supporter Pack (seen below). Grab them both whilst you still can!

Grinding Gear Games has announced the next expansion for the game. Patch 3.17 will be called Path of Exile: Siege of the Atlas!

In just under two weeks' time, the team will host an exclusive livestream to reveal Path of Exile's 3.17 endgame expansion. You'll be able to watch the full show on January 27th at 11am (PST) (7pm GMT) on the Path of Exile Twitch Channel.

"In the livestream, you'll learn all about new endgame content in Siege of the Atlas and the features of the challenge league that will accompany the expansion," a message from the team confirmed. "It's followed by a live Q&A between ZiggyD and Chris Wilson."

Following the reveal, the new expansion will go live for free on February 4th on PC, with console players able to jump in on February 9th.

What is the PoE 3.17 Update Release Date?

Update: Path of Exile's next expansion 'Siege of the Atlas' has a confirmed launch date set for February 4th (PST) on PC and February 9th (PST) on console.

At the time of writing, Grinding Gear Games has not provided a specific release date for the Path of Exile 3.17 update. However, they have given a 'rough' outline of when to expect the next major update to the game.

PoE 3.17 Update Confirmed Changes

Now that we're in 2022, Grinding Gear Games have given fans a few more details on what to expect with the launch of PoE 3.17 later this year. Unfortunately for anyone who has been enjoying Scourge, it's bad news.

When Is The PoE 3.17 Livestream?

Update: 3.17 Livestream now confirmed for January 27th, at 11AM PST / 7PM GMT.

As communicated by the dev team, the PoE 3.17 update is expected to launch "early February". Typically we see the developers host a livestream a week prior to the launch of the expansion. This was confirmed in the developer's message to fans back in December.

We imagine that the next developer livestream could happen as early as February 3, 2022. We imagine we'll get confirmation of this livestream at some stage in January, so keep your eyes peeled for details in the not too distant future.

Will PoE 3.17 Update Add 'Hard Mode'?

Prior to the turn of the year, Grinding Gear Games acknowledged that there's been a clamor from fans for a new 'hard mode'. However, the team also said that testing for this new experimental mode had been put on ice and wouldn't be arriving until after the launch of the 3.17 Update. The developers told fans:
