Pokemon Legends Z-A is the newest Pokemon title, having just released a month ago. With a new release means more Pokemon mysteries. Legends Z-A takes you back to Lumiose City, a bustling city screaming modernity, progress, and technology, so it is surprising that even with how lore-heavy this game is, there are still unanswered mysteries that we can't help but to speculate the answers to.
These are mysteries in the game that weren't outright answered within the gameplay hours and even with the hundreds of NPC's scattered around the Kalosian pavement, we still couldn't quite connect the dots.
What Are The Biggest Unanswered Mysteries in Pokemon Legends Z-A?
There's actually a lot but we'll be focusing more on questions that makes us think and lose sleep. There's Volo's endless journey and his questionable life span or the thought that Lumiose City has been deregistered by the Pokemon League to be qualified as a Gym city. There's also the controversy of an ex-Team Flare member taking over as the professor.
If you are like us and makes you question how the last 5 years of Kalos went and how we got here, keep reading and speculate these mysteries with us.
Volo in Kalos?

When you visit the Lumiose Museum, one exhibit showcases a toga-like, white and gold clothing that is obviously not from these modern times. If you played Pokemon Legends Arceus, this garment set belonged to Volo, the villain-disguised-as-a-merchant that served as the post-game boss battle of the title.
The weird part? Legends Arceus is set in the 19th century which is 150 years before the Sinnoh games. Not weird yet? According to the NPC in the museum, the original owner allegedly donated it PERSONALLY. If true, yes, Volo is really, really old. Makes you ask, what compelled Volo to visit Kalos and donate his own clothes?
Did Leon Join The Z-A Royale And Did He Win?

Multiple NPC's around Lumiose City mentions that Leon was spotted walking the streets of Lumiose. In fact, Jacinthe mentioned that Leon even joined her questionable personal tournament just the other day. If Jacinthe found Leon to be interesting enough to be part of her tournament, can we assume that Leon joined the Z-A Royale?
Leon, in case you didn't know, is the Galar champion in Pokemon Sword and Shield titles. Although Leon is normally described as person who gets lost easily, it is funny to think that he got lost all the way to Kalos and just randomly walked in on an active Battle Zone. And the bigger question is, did he win and what was his final ranking? Unfortunately for him, there's no Dynamixing in Lumiose.
Where Is Professor Sycamore?

True Pokemon X and Y fans know that Mable sitting in Professor Sycamore's office feels wrong. One, Professor Sycamore is an awesome character, personality and design-wise. Two, Legends Z-A's Professor Mable is an ex-Team Flare member. Guess it's never really too late for redemption.
But what made Sycamore quit? If we are to speculate, either he is busy starting his own family with Diantha or he feels bad for what happened to Kalos 5 years ago and he needed some time to move on. Either way, it's refreshing but never truly answered.
What Happened To The Lumiose City Gym?

We all know that in Pokemon Legends Z-A, the Lumiose City Gym is no more and that's because Prism Tower is truly just a tower. No more Gym signs in front or even mentions of the Gym Leader, Clemont. But the whereabouts of the Gym Leader is not the mystery here.
It's the question of what made the Pokemon League deregister Lumiose as a city not deserving of its own gym anymore. There's the possibility of Quasartico Inc probably making plans for the area or no one is interested, totally no one, in applying as Lumiose City's Gym Leader. Does that mean the Pokemon League didn't ever plan to replace Clemont?
What's That Blinking Light From Afar?

If you climb one of the rooftops in Pokemon Legends Z-A, from afar, a blue light can be seen blinking and no one, as far as we know, has any answers to what it is yet. Yes, it can just be a glitch but it can also be something more meaningful.
Others speculate that it may be a DLC foreshadowing or the outside world saying "Hi" to the trainer given that you can't leave Lumiose City at all. Either way, it's a tiny detail perfect for speculation.

These mysteries don't affect the story nor the gameplay, but they affect our peace of mind, especially for those who played other Pokemon titles. These can just simply be tagged as easter eggs but it's the implication that make them more interesting and we can't wait to uncover more!
