I hate fighting against a Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rivals. Her entire kit is designed to pee you off, and it takes so little effort from the player to get great value out of her.
Ever since I hit Diamond I rank in Marvel Rivals, Squirrel Girl’s presence has been the bane of my existence. As a tank main who mostly uses Magneto, Emma, or Doctor Strange, just seeing Doreen Green on the enemy team is an eyesore. Her exploding acorns and ridiculous ultimate always leave me with one or two fewer teammates alive during tense firefights.
Despite being low-tier, Squirrel Girl somehow reached the "good enough" meta ever since Season 3. Her new team-up ability with Iron Man gives her solid anti-air capabilities, letting her chuck down Iron Man’s arm while her squirrels guide it. So heroes like Storm, Human Torch, and even Iron Man himself have a tougher time poking when there’s a skilled Squirrel Girl around.
There’s just nothing in her kit that I enjoy. If she’s on my team, she might deal a decent amount of damage, but she’s terrible at securing final hits. She can’t finish off a one or two HP Hulk from a distance because her aim isn’t hitscan. She just lobs her exploding acorns across the map, hoping something connects. Sure, there are good Squirrel Girl mains with Lord icons, but most of the time they aren’t doing much aside from taking down a Strategist or two during her ultimate, that's assuming they can time their ults well.
When there’s a Squirrel Girl on the enemy team, I know I have to deal with her immediately or risk watching my backline get wiped out. More often than not, she’ll randomly kill our Luna Snow or Invisible Woman out of sheer luck. And the worst part? Even when I dive her, her Squirrel Blockade can immobilize me, and her whole team is suddenly there to slap me around.
I know this sounds like a long-winded rant about Doreen Green’s presence in Marvel Rivals, but I can’t help it. I can handle top-tier Black Panthers, annoying Spider-Man mains, or Human Torches who never touch the ground. But Squirrel Girl? Her low-skill, high-reward playstyle drives me insane.
This isn’t about her squirrels, though. I love them. But as a character? Man, she’s just plain annoying.
