Rockstar has already stated that GTA 6 will feature an advanced weather system. But now, we've learned just how advanced this will be.

On September 30, Game Informer released a 14-page feature on GTA 6, covering some of the game's features and including never-before-seen screenshots. One topic people were dying to hear about was the weather system, which is meant to make you feel even more immersed in Leonida.

Curious about how this works? Here's what Rockstar had to tell Game Informer.

How the Advanced Weather System Will Work in GTA 6

According to a report from Game Informer, Rockstar Games has re-engineered its weather system to make everything feel localized and persistent. They said that they wanted the world to feel more dynamic and "achieve a sense of scale we haven’t felt before."

GTA 6 will feature fully dynamic cloudscapes that roll across the map, giving players access to a broad spectrum of weather.

The game will also have an updated wind system, which includes "offshore breezes after sunset, convective updrafts, and occlusion from buildings." When on the roof, Jason or Lucia's hair will swirl in the air, and debris will fly in the air. Gusts of wind will also ripple the water surface and bend grass.

Leonida will also experience both tropical storms and hurricanes. This will look like heavy clouds, strong winds, a dense atmosphere, and a lot of rain. The report stated that "everything is dripping wet, water is gushing off roof edges and lampposts, thunder rumbles and flashes of lightning light up the clouds dramatically."
