- Quick Answer: Resident Evil Veronica remake is scheduled for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
Capcom is continuing its incredible Nintendo Switch 2, and in case you missed it, they’ve confirmed a major 2027 release is also hitting the hybrid system: Resident Evil Veronica.
It was a blink and you miss it moment at Summer Game Fest, but just to reiterate, Nintendo confirmed it via social media on June 11.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is arguably a beefier console in terms of specs, that release at a time where diminishing returns in terms of graphical fidelity and performance helped the company deliver a console that can compete with the current generation of systems. A far cry from the 2017 Switch’s release, which was close to outdated, not even a year into its release.

2026 was a fantastic year of support from Capcom towards Nintendo’s system. I personally got to review Monster Hunter Stories 3, Pragmata, and Mega Man: Star Force Legacy Collection on the Switch, and I absolutely adored all of them.
Resident Evil Requiem is also available on the Switch 2, and although I can personally attest to its performance, those who played it on the handheld mention it’s a spectacular port by Capcom. With such a track record, hopes are high for the return of Claire Redfield in the Code Veronica remake.
If you’re still on the fence about getting a Switch 2, better act fast, as Nintendo recently revealed a price hike coming towards September.
