The anticipation for the next Resident Evil entry is building rapidly ahead of its showcase at tomorrow’s Gamescom 2025 event. With Requiem’s release drawing closer, fans are also wondering if Capcom’s best-selling survival horror series will make its way to Nintendo’s latest hybrid hardware.

Popular Nintendo Switch content creator SwitchForce posted a video suggesting that Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil Requiem could be coming to Switch 2. According to him, this information comes from a “sneaky source” connected to Gamescom 2025 in Germany.

At around the 2:42 mark in his latest YouTube upload, he claimed that Resident Evil Requiem will be playable at Gamescom booths using Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, countering those who believe Capcom’s booth will only feature older Resident Evil ports. SwitchForce stated that the Switch 2 hardware is capable of running Requiem.

As the leak continues, however, he clarified that “The Switch 2 stations next to the RE9 banner are for the Switch 2 versions of Street Fighter 6 and Kunitsu-Gami,” with no direct mention of Requiem. Other speculation comes from how Capcom strategically placed the Resident Evil Requiem banner beneath Nintendo Switch 2 demo stations, which could suggest something more for players. Since Resident Evil Requiem is expected to showcase new footage during tomorrow’s event, the situation remains uncertain.

Even if Requiem itself is not playable on Switch 2, there is still the possibility of older Resident Evil titles being announced for the system. The remakes, including the most recent one featuring Leon Kennedy, could arrive on Switch 2, along with Resident Evil 7 and Village.

Additionally, outside of Resident Evil, the leaker hinted at the possibility of a long-awaited Silksong release announcement at tomorrow’s show. Others speculate that this might just be hype or trolling, but the buzz is undeniable.

For now, everything should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, if the rumors hold true, this could mark a major turning point for Capcom’s Resident Evil series as more of its remakes and latest titles make their way to Nintendo’s new generation console.
