- Quick Answer: Pokemon Unite, the Pokemon MOBA, will end service on March 23, 2027, with Pokemon Bank also ceasing operations earlier that year.
Pokemon Unite, the franchise’s own MOBA spin-off, will reach end of service on March 23, 2027. This comes after being online for over five years, having launched in July 2021 for Nintendo Switch before reaching mobile devices in September of that same year.
In theory, League of Legends meets Pokemon should’ve been a surefire path to success. Sadly, developer TiMi never fully grasped how to balance the game, and players consistently complained about pay-to-win mechanics, matchmaking issues, overpriced store items, and more.
As soon as the statement was shared online, TiMi suspended purchases for Aeos Gems and UNITE Club memberships, both for new sign-ups and renewals. Once the game is shut down, players can access a library feature that will allow them to view certain records and in-game content.
Before the dreaded March date arrives, players will still be able to earn Unite licenses and Holowear so they can keep viewing the content they’ve earned when the servers officially shut down.
That isn’t the only Pokemon service being shut down in early 2027. Pokemon Bank, the online storage application players used to transfer their little mons from game to game, will also reach end-of-service status slightly earlier than Unite, on February 25.
