As revealed at Summer Game Fest. PlatinumGames is teaming up with the recently announced Paramount Games to develop a new AAA Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game based on The Last Ronin storyline.
This isn't the first TMNT title developed by Platinum, with their first crack at making a hack and slash featuring the heroes in a half-shell coming in the form of the disastrous Mutants in Manhattan, which was critically panned in 2016.
Platinum has undergone massive internal changes, so the studio might not be exactly where it used to be back when they were dropping bangers such as Nier Automata or the Bayonetta series.
Still, the trailer looked incredible, and the studio tackling an extremely tragic story like TMNT: The Last Ronin, with its dark, gritty take on a post-apocalyptic world, could be exactly the setting they need to craft a much more compelling game than their previous attempt featuring the turtles.
Little else was shown about the game, so hopefully we'll get more information in the coming months.
