I've long believed the original Persona deserves a remake, and it looks like one might actually be in the works.

Back in August, Persona 4 Revival producer Kazuhisa Wada told Gamer Braves whether Persona and Persona 2 would ever receive remakes. At the time, Wada stated he couldn't say for sure, but believed it was something the studio definitely has to do.

At the time, it was taken with a grain of salt, as Persona 4 Revival comes out in February and Persona 6 is also in the works. However, a supposed leak has me wondering if we're getting it sooner rather than later.

Alleged Trailer for Persona 1 Remake Leaked

A supposed trailer for a remake of the original Persona game has been released on YouTube by a new account. The trailer features gameplay footage, combat, and dialogue.

The supposed remake would feature a modified UI, remixes of the original music, and a revamped combat system that is similar to Persona 3 and 4.

As of this writing, it's unknown if the footage is legitimate. While some have speculated that the trailer could be AI-generated, most Persona fans seem to believe the leak is legitimate. However, players are unsure whether the game is meant to have served as an actual trailer or was made to pitch the game's remake.

As of this writing, neither SEGA nor ATLUS has confirmed that a remake of the first Persona is in the works. They also have yet to comment on the supposed leak.
