I'm 10x richer now.

The Overwatch 2 team has been updating the game since it rebranded to 2, and according to Blizzard's official forums, “Up to six items from each hero’s collection have been removed from Loot Boxes and can no longer be bought with Overwatch Credits or Overwatch 2 Coins. If you already own any of these items, you’ll keep them and also receive Credits based on their rarity. These Credits can be used to unlock other items from the Hero Gallery.”

The Credit grants will roll out over the next few days, so they may not appear right away for everyone. If your friends are new to Overwatch 2, they might not receive any Credits since the old skins were tied to classic cosmetics from the first game.

You can use them to purchase any remaining skins that are still available through Legacy Credits (Grey Coins). Just remember that these are not the premium credits (Gold Coins), which are used for the Battle Pass and exclusive skins in the in-game shop.

Overwatch 2’s upcoming Season 18 is launching in just a few hours, and players are already eager to see what’s next for the hero-shooter. We’re also getting a new support hero, Wuyang, along with new additions to the Stadium mode, plenty of competitive updates, and more.

As for your extra Credits, don’t stress about it. They’re yours to keep forever.
