  • Quick Answer: GTA 6 will not launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 19, though Nintendo indicated future releases remain up to Take-Two and Rockstar.

GTA 6 is undoubtedly the most anticipated game of the year. Rockstar has touted the game as being their most ambitious title yet, and it's apparent from everything we've seen so far.

It's long been known that the game is only getting a console release, with a PC launch later down the line. However, this has caused many to wonder if GTA 6 will be releasing on the Switch 2 alongside the PS5 and Xbox.

Well, it seems we have an answer from Nintendo of America President Devon Pritchard.

Is GTA 6 Coming to the Nintendo Switch?

During an interview with Variety, Nintendo of America President Devon Pritchard touched on the possibility of GTA 6 getting a Switch 2 release.

The publication noted that GTA 6 is the most anticipated game of the year and that the console would have the horsepower to host the game. However, it seems that a GTA 6 release - at least by its launch on November 19 - seems unlikely.

Pritchard told Variety, "That’s going to be a conversation for Take-Two and Rockstar, but nothing to announce on my end at this time."

However, that doesn't mean it will never come to the Switch 2. In her interview, Pritachard spoke about Nintendo aiming to provide diversity in the type of experiences gamers have on the console - which could possibly include GTA 6, now rated M for its adult content and themes.

Still, if you're hoping for a Switch 2 release in November, don't get your hopes up. If you want to play it on launch day, you'll need to do so on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S instead. And hey, if you're really looking for a good game to play on your Switch 2 this November, consider the Ocarina of Time Remake.
