- Quick Answer: Summer Game Fest 2026 predictions point to major updates for Persona 6, Metro 2039, Final Fantasy 7 Part 3, and Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.
Summer Game Fest 2026 is just around the corner, and there are some games I'm anticipating (hoping) to make an appearance during the showcase.
Some games have already been confirmed, such as Guild Wars, Fortnite, and Star Wars Zero Company. However, most of the line-up is under wraps, leaving gamers everywhere anticipating what will be announced.
And of course, that includes me. Here are six games I believe will appear in SGF this year - either with new trailers or a surprise announcement.
Persona 6
Amid the massive amount of leaks and SEGA and ATLUS desperately filing copyright strikes, it feels like a Persona 6 announcement is highly likely for Summer Game Fest 2026. And as someone who adores Persona 5 Royal, I can't help but keep my hopes up.

Of course, the leaks could be coincidental. But if the release date of the leaks is right, it makes sense they'd announce Persona 6 during the SGF - gives people time to prepare.
Metro 2039
Unlike Persona 6, Metro 2039 has already been confirmed, and Summer Game Fest 2026 feels like the best opportunity to show new gameplay compared to the small teasers we received in April.

The game also has yet to receive an official release date. It would be a great opportunity to remind people of the Metro franchise and this gritty shooter, as well as confirm when the game is coming out.
Final Fantasy 7 Part 3
After reliable leaker and insider Nate the Hate claimed on Reddit that he believed Final Fantasy 7 Part 3 would be featured in SGF this year, I believe it.

He's been right more than once; the showcase is the best way to announce Final Fantasy 7 remake Part 3. Square Enix has kept hush-hush over details on the upcoming game, though we know it's in development as the director has already completed over 40 full playthroughs of the game.
The Blood of Dawnwalker
The last time we heard any major updates about The Blood of Dawnwalker was during the Road to Launch event. There, we learned more about the plot, the gameplay, and how the open world works.

With the game scheduled to release in September 2026, it's likely The Blood of Dawnwalker will be featured in SGF with a new trailer and a glimpse at the gameplay.
Hogwarts Legacy 2
When Hogwarts Legacy first came out, it was a smash hit with Potterheads worldwide. It's long been known that Warner Bros. Games has prioritized developing a sequel, allowing wizards a fresh look at Hogwarts once more.

While news of the game has been kept under wraps, it's a welcome surprise if they choose to confirm the game in SGF.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been in development for years now and has been delayed multiple times. It was originally scheduled to release in late 2025, then was moved to early 2026, and then was pushed back again with no speculative date.

SGF would be the perfect chance to reignite interest in Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra... and maybe announce a new release date, too.
