Monster Hunter Wilds’ latest collab event is here, and it’s not exactly what you’d expect. There aren’t any new monsters or weapons, but you do get a cool new Guitar emote thanks to iconic guitar manufacturer Fender in this special crossover event.
Who would’ve thought we’d see our hunter pull off a sick guitar riff from the Monster Hunter Theme and actually look like a badass while doing it?
Here’s how to get the Fender gesture in Monster Hunter Wilds:
What Is the Fender Guitar?

The Fender guitar is a special custom-made instrument, part of the latest collaboration between Monster Hunter Wilds and Fender. The Fender Rathalos Telecaster rocks a bold red design to celebrate the franchise’s 20th Anniversary. It also features the familiar Monster Hunter logo and a massive Rathalos emblem on the back.
With this collaboration, the Fender Rathalos Telecaster can be unlocked in-game for free as a special gesture.
It’s a perfect collector’s item for fans of Monster Hunter who also happen to be musicians. Just keep in mind it costs $2,302 for the standard version.
Do the Event Quest “The Melodic Monarch” and Slay a Rathalos

Once you boot up the game, head to your handler, Erik or Alma, and pick up the event quest “The Melodic Monarch.” All you need to do is slay a Rathalos in the Wounded Hollow. If you’re in the Grand Hub, go straight to the Quest Area to take it on.
This quest is as straightforward as it gets since you only need to clear it once to unlock the gestures. Slaying a Rathalos shouldn’t be an issue either. It’s just a 5-Star hunt, not one of the new endgame 9-Star monsters, so with decent gear, you can probably take it down in under 10 minutes. A quick and easy hunt.
Equipping the Fender Gestures

After completing the quest, you’ll unlock three Fender Rathalos Telecaster gestures. Each one varies in intensity, with level 1 being more subtle and level 3 going full-on hardcore. To equip them, open the Communication panel in the settings and scroll to Gestures. They’re listed at the end of the page. Once you find them, mark them as Favorites so you don’t lose track, then equip them to your Radial Menu for quick access after pulling off a big 9-Star clear.
That’s about it. This special collab event is definitely an odd but fun surprise, and one of the more unique crossovers in Monster Hunter history.
