The Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC is set to release in just a few days, December 10, 2025,g to be exact, and as the wait becomes shorter, fans continue to receive new information about the DLC. This one might be our favorite one yet: Lucario will be receiving a new Mega Evolution in the form of Mega Lucario Z.
Lucario is one of the most loved Pokemon in the roster thanks to its awesome design and strong combat prowess. The most recent announcement prior to this one also didn't exatly excite the community due to the anticlimactic and lackluster reveal of Zeraora's Mega Evolution. So seeing Lucario in a new coat of aura and fur, sporting a new spunk is right in our alley!
What Are The Latest News in Pokemon Legends Z-A?
As mentioned above, Mega Lucario Z, an entirely different Mega form for Lucario, has been revealed and will be released on the Mega Dimensions DLC.
On top of the Mega Lucario Z announcement, a new Mewtwo side mission was also released by Game Freak for free where players who will take on and finish this new side mission will be able to get a free Mewtwo and Mega Evolve it.
Aura Farming To The Max With Mega Lucario Z!
The trailer showed us that this new Mega Lucario form will come in a new, Anubis-inspired design with its pointy ears, long braided head hair, and Egyptian-ish mask design. We can see that this form seems to have a calmer disposition making it more threatening as we don't know yet how masterful it is in turning its aura into destructive force.
We can also immediately see that this form feels a bit less rugged than the original Mega Lucario design which led to fans speculate that Mega Lucario Z may be a more Special Attacking Lucario form as opposed to the Physical Attacking of the first Mega.
The reveal even showed Mega Lucario Z generating a bigger Aura Sphere versus the Aura Sphere of the OG Mega Lucario and winning the energy clash.
Some fans can't also help but to speculate this this may be Korrina's main Pokemon, as she has been confirmed to return to the Mega Dimension DLC, because she has been known to have a Lucario while also having a huge collection of Mega Stones.
What Are Z Mega Evolutions?
According to the official Pokemon website, Pokemon that undergo Z Mega Evolution (Mega Lucario Z is the only one confirmed so far) will need less time to throw moves and have shorter cooldowns but will see their Mega Evolution gauge deplete faster.
Z Mega Evolution Pokemon are the burst type offense experts, working best in quick, decisive victories and will have a hard time for long battles or facing bulky opponents. Still, we can't help but be excited which other Pokemon will also have Z Mega Evolutions once the DLC fully releases.
Mewtwo In Lumiose City
A bonus news we received on the Mega Lucario Z reveal trailer is the Mewtwo side mission that all Pokemon Legends Z-A players can claim right now via Mystery Gift. The Mystery Gift is claimable via the Internet with the title "Project M" where you'll receive a Mega Mewtwonite X and Mega Mewtwonite Y.
After claiming the Mewtwo Mega Stones, all you have to do is head to Lysandre Labs and go to the basement where you'll trigger a Mewtwo cutscene. Beat the the OG Legendary, catch it with your favorite Poke Ball, and Mega Evolve it to your heart's content. With Mega Mewtwo's sheer power, now might be the best time to start ranking up in Online Battles and start catching up to those Kalos Starters Mega Stones.
Not Too Late To Shine Bright Like A Gemstone
For those who might have missed it, the Diancie "Shine Bright Like a Gemstone" Side Mission is still online and claimable from Mystery Gift. Like the Mewtwo side mission free bonus, all you have to do is claim the Diancie Mega Stone from Mystery Gift via the Internet, take the stone to Emma's office, and trigger a cutscene.
Diancie, in terms of rarity, is better than Mewtwo because Diancie is a mythical Pokemon and it can also Mega Evolve. With Mega Diancie's gorgeous design and mythical stats, it is worth it to try catching too.
The Pokemon Legends Z-A Mega Dimension DLC releases in less than a week and news like this make us more excited for its official outing. It makes us more thrilled to see which new Pokemon will get more Mega Evolutions or which Legendaries will make it to Kalos as well. December 10 couldn't be any slower at this rate and it's all Game Freak and Mega Lucario Z's fault.
