Marvel Cosmic Invasion is getting a fresh roguelike mode, just in time to hype up the release of Avengers: Doomsday.
First unveiled back in August, developer Tribute Games has finally offered new details about The Siege of Castle Doom DLC, which looks like the exact type of content that will make Cosmic Invasion a complete package. Players will venture into Castle Doomstadt to stop the Latverian ruler from charging up a Cosmic Inductor to grant himself unlimited power.
You’ll have to fight through different rooms featuring various types of random events. Some rooms offer power-ups or equipment; others heal your team, and a select few present risk-reward challenges that either buff or debuff you depending on the outcome.
Perks serve as the primary way to power up your hero, allowing you to assemble unique builds that add tons of replayability to the mode. Meta-progression unlocks after each run will also increase the variety of events and items you can discover during subsequent runs.
Beyond the new mode, two playable characters are joining the roster: Invisible Woman (Sue Storm) and Dr. Doom himself. They follow previous DLC additions that brought The Thing and Cyclops to the game.
