Marathon Players Receive Mysterious 'Survey Module' Message

Recently, players received a mysterious message regarding Tau Ceti IV terrain data. The message tasks players to infiltrate zones (the Perimeter, Dire Marsh, and Outpost maps), observe their surroundings, and learn the zone layout. The Marathon community was able to locate hidden terminals scattered around the maps, which showed them a video feed.

After finishing a raid on Outpost, players would then receive a "Survey Module Unlocked" message. When opened, the message would say:

“Marathon Planetary Index: Fragmented

Tau Ceti IV Terrain Data: Awaiting Verification

-infil to zones (perimeter; dire marsh; outpost)

-Observe surroundings

-gain understanding of zone layout

-information is survival.”

The message contained a series of letters, with people getting different letters than others. Many gamers came together online and revealed the letters, which, when put together, read "AGAIN MOTHS AWAIT THE RAIN." This is also an anagram that reads "THE MARATHON IS WAITING."

The mysterious note is likely hinting at the launch of the Cryo Archive.

The Cryo Archive is Marathon's premier endgame zone, set aboard the abandoned UESC Marathon Ship. Currently, it is not available to play.

The Marathon community needs to unlock its way to the Cryo Archive, and it looks like it will be opened soon. Take note, however, that just because it is announced doesn't necessarily mean you can play. To raid the Cryo Archive, you need to be Seasonal Level 25 and unlock all the factions.
