It's Time: Fallout Season 2 Should Lead to a New Vegas Re-Release

New Vegas Season 2

New Vegas Season 2

Fallout Season 2 is coming to Amazon later this year, and fans are pretty hyped. The first trailer showed plenty of interesting lore from this game’s world, including Caesar’s Legion and more of the Brotherhood. Naturally, most fans just want to see the city of New Vegas, which was teased at the end of Season 1.

It’s worth noting that Fallout 4 received a current-gen upgrade two weeks after the first season’s release. Considering Season 2’s setting, fans are wondering if there are any plans for a Fallout: New Vegas re-release. At the time of writing, this game can only be accessed on PC and Xbox Series, so a new version would be greatly appreciated.

New Vegas Remastered?

Most fans are wondering if Bethesda will follow up on the show’s success with a Fallout: New Vegas remastered. This has been heavily requested for years now, but the second season’s setting makes a re-release sensible. Considering the next-gen upgrade for Fallout 4, a remastered version of New Vegas just feels right.

While the original game isn’t perfect, it manages to combine post-apocalyptic survival with RPG elements incredibly well. Writing-wise, this is also one of the best entries in this series, which is why fans were so excited to see the city during the first season’s finale.

If Bethesda is working on a Fallout: New Vegas remaster, it will be interesting to see what major changes are made. Fans would love an improved graphics engine, as the original game was pretty ugly, even for its time. Gamers would also like some of the crashing and bugs fixed, though we can’t be sure about the latter, given Bethesda’s reputation for buggy releases.

Reality Check

Even if a Fallout: New Vegas re-release seems likely, fans are always bracing themselves for disappointment when it comes to this particular entry. There was a time when Bethesda was trying to avoid mentioning this game, but that’s obviously changed now that the Amazon series is a hit.

Still, there’s a very good chance that the company will do something else instead of re-releasing New Vegas.

We imagine that Fallout 76 will have some tie-in DLC to the show, as this online title still gets updated a lot. Fallout Shelter added characters from Season 1 when it came out, so chances are that it will do the same for Season 2. Realistically, this is all that fans are getting.

Then again, we got all of that plus a next-gen upgrade for Fallout 4. Could the same thing happen here, and we get Fallout: New Vegas remastered? Let’s hope so.
