Are you wondering if Hades 2 has cross-save functionalities? Well, if you’ve been playing early access and want to jump into the Nintendo Switch version, then you’re in luck.

Hades 2 features an extensive storyline as players take control of Melinoe in her quest to break free Hades from Chronos, the Titan of Time. Having hit early access back in May 2024 on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, plenty of fans have invested dozens or, in many cases (including mine), hundreds of hours into the game and may want to switch to another version, no pun intended.

So, does Supergiant Games’ latest and greatest have cross-save, and if so, how does it work? Let’s find out.

Does Hades 2 Have Cross-Save?

It is a godsend (I can’t stop with these, I’m sorry) for those who have dedicated plenty of time to the game during early access and want an on-the-go experience with the Switch 1 and 2 versions.

How To Use Cross-Save In Hades 2?

If you want to import your Steam or Epic Games Store Hades 2 file to the Nintendo Switch, follow these steps:

  • Boot up the Switch version of Hades 2 and select the cross-saves option.
  • Select either Connect Steam or Epic Games Store, depending on where you originally played the game.
  • Log in using your normal credentials.
  • Once you establish the connection, your cloud save from Steam or Epic should sync with your Nintendo Switch. Don’t worry, you don’t need an active Switch Online subscription for this.

Do note that only one cross-platform connection can be made. If, for some odd reason, you bought the game on both Steam and Epic Games, choose carefully which one you want to import.

With this feature enabled, it is essential that you select the Sync and Quit option once you finish playing, as this will safely upload your latest data to the cloud, allowing you to resume where you left off if you need to return to your PC.

If you want to have two save states without your Switch progress overwriting your PC one, you can change the name of your save slot files. According to Supergiant, simply rename your Profile1.sav file (if you’re using save slot 1) to Profile2.sav. That way, your original save will transfer to save slot 2, and your up-to-date Switch progress will carry over to save slot 1.
