After Battlefield 6’s announcement, could Nintendo fans expect a version on the Switch 2? Unfortunately, the answer is no.

Battlefield boss Vince Zampella confirmed in interviews that EA currently has no plans to bring the game to Nintendo’s new console.

He said he enjoys the Switch himself but clarified that Battlefield Studios is focusing on platforms where the franchise already thrives, namely PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Why Won’t Battlefield 6 Launch on Switch 2?

It’s largely a matter of hardware limits and business priorities.

Battlefield 6 is built around enormous maps, large-scale destruction, and player counts that take full advantage of current-generation hardware.

These features demand high performance, and EA isn’t cutting them down for the Switch 2.

Some fans pointed out that EA hadn’t even optimized Battlefield 2042 for the Steam Deck, so expecting full support for the Switch 2 was always a long shot.

For now, EA has confirmed that Battlefield 6 will launch on October 10, 2025, exclusively on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Players will get their first chance to try the game in August’s open beta weekends, though access is limited to the confirmed platforms.

While the company hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a Switch 2 version somewhere down the line, nothing official suggests it’s even being considered.

Unless EA reverses course, Nintendo players will have to seek their big FPS fix somewhere else.
