While exploring the world, you will find items lying around. You can either take the item or steal. If the option presented to you is Take, this means the item has no owner and is free for the taking. However, if the option you get is Steal, it means the item already belongs to someone else.

The option to Steal will be greyed out unless you own the Mask. To get one, you can either loot it from bandits or other enemies. However, the easiest way to get a Mask is to buy one.

Head over to the Back Alley Shop in Hernand and purchase yourself a Mask for 10 Bronze Pieces. Once you equip it, you'll be able to steal items and pickpocket.

To steal anything without getting caught, you'll need the Great Thief's Gloves. When equipped, you'll be able to steal any item in the game without getting caught. You can do this once every 30 minutes.
