- Quick answer: To spawn more Pokemon in Pokopia, build 2-block-high houses with furniture and move existing residents into them, vacating their original natural habitats for newcomers.
Pokemon Pokopia is a game that brings with it hundreds of hours of gameplay, revolving around building communities across different regions. To build said Poke-communities or, as the title suggests, utopias, you have to spawn hundreds of Pokemon not only to help you grow but to expand your Pokedex as well.
But, if you're like a lot of us, you may have hit a wall harder than Golem when you notice all of a sudden that new Pokemon have stopped spawning in your little biome. And although that's normal, there's actually a reason and a solution for this, and it's quite a simple one.
How Do You Make More Pokemon Spawn In Pokopia?
It basically falls to habitat management and freeing up space for new Pokemon to spawn into. So if you want new Pokemon to appear in your utopia, you have to move Pokemon around by building them new houses that they can call home and let their old habitats be open for newcomers.
But to get more technical, continue reading as we show you how this very simple yet easily overlooked idea works.
Why Do New Pokemon Stop Spawning In Pokopia At Some Point?

Before we talk about the method of spawning more new Pokemon, let's discuss first why they have stopped appearing in the first place. Pokemon aren't just randomly thrown into your Pokopia biomes, as each kind of Pokemon spawns in a specific habitat type. We have grass patches, flower beds, grass near the water, and many more.
Sometimes, our habitats can feel full because for each one you build, only one Pokemon can live there, and if a Pokemon already took a habitat as its home, no new Pokemon will spawn there. Now, one may think to just build endless numbers of habitats in the same area, but this can be quite ineffective. But fret not, because we have a more efficient solution for this kind of problem.
Freeing Up Habitat Space

Rather than building countless habitats, building new homes for your already existing Pokopia partners is more effective. If you move a Pokemon from its existing habitat to a new home you built, either manually or from a kit that you can buy from the PC, its initial habitat becomes free, and new Pokemon can spawn there.
Again, it's a very simple thought, but sometimes, with how hectic playing Pokopia can be, we do forget this. So start gathering materials and start building homes for your partners. If you have befriended a lot of Pokemon already, then that's a lot of houses you will need to create for.
How Does One Build A Home in Pokemon Pokopia

In Pokemon Pokopia, a structure will only be considered a home if it's enclosed in four walls and is 2 blocks high, so it can be quite simple to build one. You can either build one from scratch, which I personally did brick by brick, or you can buy a pre-fab house kit, where you need resources and Pokemon to have one erected, albeit it will take real-time hours before it's finished.
But, in order for a home to be habitable, it needs to have at least 3 pieces of furniture inside. So start gathering materials to build chairs, tables, and of course, a bed for your Pokemon to lie in. It is also important to note that sometimes, Pokemon have home preferences, but what's important here is that you have freed up their initial habitat as a new space for spawning.
High-Value Habitats Help More

So the loop continues, new Pokemon spawn in, build them a home, and move them there so that new Pokemon can spawn in, but remember, in Pokemon Pokopia, sometimes there are habitats that can spawn Rare or Very Rare Pokemon so it'll be quicker to fill the Dex if you prioritize habitats that can spawn these high-rarity Pocket Monsters.

Unlike previous games, spawning Pokemon in Pokopia isn't going to be by brute force or endless grinds; it requires habitat management, and as corny as it sounds, a bit of care. You need to understand the system and work with your living partners. That's what makes Pokemon Pokopia so great, it truly feels like living WITH Pokemon and not just using them as tools of combat.
By following these steps, you get to hit two Pidgeys with one Geodude, because you get more Poke-visitors in your biomes, but you also get to manage your habitats better because you don't overcrowd your space with grass or flowers or trees. Or trees with flowers. You get it. Besides, if you truly love your Pokemon, they deserve a home that looks good and has a roof, right? So go ahead, heed our advice and make your Pokemon Pokopia experience the best it can be!
