As you create more and more Miis to join your island, you're going to need some space for them. That begs the question: how do you make the island bigger? It's definitely possible, but certain criteria need to be met to achieve it.

And here's how to do it!

The first island upgrade happens when you get eight Miis living on your island. The second upgrade occurs when you get 20 Miis. The third and final stage happens when you have 35 Miis living on your island.

Once you have six Miis living on your island, you'll unlock the Island Builder. When you select Island Builder, you'll be able to see the existing landscape as well as empty areas that you can fill out after each upgrade.

The Island Builder allows you to build new landscapes in these empty areas. You can go to the landscape tab to see your unlocked landscape. Once you select one, you can place the landscape one-by-one as a tile or cover a whole area.
