As a PvE survival game, Windrose has some pretty difficult enemies.

You aren't just trying to defeat the infamous Blackbeard - across your adventures on land and sea, you'll come across plenty of enemies who want to thwart your pirate empire. Some may prove to be too difficult, and if you're someone who focuses on story rather than combat, you might want to make the game as easy as possible.

Well, luckily for you, Windrose has a way to adjust the game exactly to your liking.

How to Change the Difficulty in Windrose

To change the difficulty in Windrose, make sure you aren't in your game world. Instead, you should be at the main menu.

At the bottom, you'll see three options: Confirm, Edit, or Delete. Click Edit, and you'll be given the option to change the mode (difficulty) of your game.

There are four difficulty modes to choose from in Windrose:

  • Calm Waters (an easy voyage)
  • High Seas (the intended Windrose experience)
  • Storm’s Edge (the sea shows no mercy)
  • Captain’s Choice (set the rules of your adventure)

But it doesn't just end there. A World Properties screen also opens when you click Edit, allowing you to pick the combat difficulty and modify the enemy's health, damage output, ship health, ship damage output, and more.

Selecting a mode will cause the slider bars of each modifier to move, but you can ultimately choose to edit them to your liking.
