Hades 2, one of the best games of 2025 and my personal GOTY of said year, has arrived on both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, including Game Pass. Supergiant Games decided to commemorate the occasion with a second post-release patch that's beefier than anyone had anticipated.
As an early-access project, seeing the game evolve and improve until it reached its 1.0 was fascinating. It wasn't without flaws, which is why Supergiant added some needed improvements with its first post-launch patch. This second one focuses a lot more on post-game content, expanding the relationships of Melinoe with those around her, while adding new epilogue scenes to specific side quests, making the experience of finishing them much more rewarding.
I'm deliberately being vague to avoid spoilers, but rest assured, there's quite enough here to jump back into the world of Hades, even for someone with 200+ hours and dozens and dozens of completed runs.
If you had too much Ambrosia or other gifts, you'll be able to use them and unlock even more scenes with different characters. Especially those with whom Melinoe can have relationships that go beyond being more than friends.
You'll also get to see some characters making unexpected comebacks in the most amazing ways. Again, no spoilers if you haven't finished the game or done some of the side content. But rest assured, taking down Chronos is not nearly the end of Melinoe's journey.
One thing shown in the trailer that I will spoil is the ability to have new, steamy conversations with characters you wouldn't expect to, including Heracles.
Beyond the story bits, there are dozens and dozens of balance changes to both the Nocturnal Arms and the various boons Melinoe can receive. I highly recommend you check the full patch notes. If you're a newcomer or haven't played in a while, the changes seem minimal, barring some very, very nice buffs to Ares.
