  • Quick Answer: Barbie Rewind and Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered drop in November, daringly releasing alongside GTA 6.

While most games are avoiding a November release due to GTA 6, two studios have now decided to take the risk.

Some games have pushed back their release date to steer clear of Grand Theft Auto 6, while others have been purposefully brought forward. Even Fable by Playground Games, who previously stressed they would still launch in November, ultimately delayed their release to February 2027.

But in a surprising turn of events, two games with majorly different genres are set to embrace the competition.

Barbie and Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters to Release in November 2026

During the IGN Live on June 6, it was announced that Barbie Rewind by Digital Eclipse is officially coming on November 12 - just one week before GTA 6 on November 19. This game encapsulates 16 different Barbie games released between 1991 and 2007 into one title.

That same day, publisher Atari and developer Pipeworks announced Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered for a November 3 release. With these two games, the pattern of gaming publishers avoiding November has officially ended.

Following the announcement, fans have started jokingly comparing Barbie Rewind and GTA 6, wondering which game will be more successful. However, others have also questioned if Godzilla is capable of handling the heat of GTA 6 - after all, it is a classic retro game that's getting a well-deserved remake.

Regardless, it's refreshing to see a game studio that isn't afraid of GTA 6. I'm aware it's the most anticipated game of the year (arguably), but November was looking pretty bleak with just GTA 6 on the calendar.

Also, I'm definitely purchasing Barbie Rewind - it might even be better than GTA 6!
