As one of the oldest maxims in the world goes, all good things must come to an end. But for our contenders in Season 4 of the Gfinity Challenger Series Delivered By Domino's, this marks only the first part of their story – one which they will be hoping is still yet to be written. Our competition to find the best unsigned (and signed!) talent in the esports scene draws to a close once more, with players battling all the way up to close of play this week in the hunt for any and every G-Point they could get their hands on. And now we have our top-30 in every class, let's take one more look at the top spots across all three of our games to look at who finished with the most credit to their name – and in the best position going into the Elite Draft.
FIFA 18
After retaking the lead of the Xbox One FIFA 18 leaderboard last week, BeastTekkerz managed to close out Challenger Series Delivered By Domino's Season 4 in style – finishing in top spot on 4930 points, a full 880 points ahead of second place Rxbbie_. He romped to the top with a Cup win last week, and backed it up with two more wins on Monday and Tuesday for a total of three consecutive Cup wins in a row – a stunning run. The streak ended on Wednesday with a measly Top-8, but that and one more Top-32 on Thursday saw him over the line first. 2nd place Rxbbie_ can still be very pleased with how their season concluded, with a runner-up finish on Thursday contributing to a 760-point haul for the final week and locking down 2nd place in the table.
Speaking of finishing strongly though, the player who defeated Rxbbie_ in the Cup final on Thursday had perhaps the best final week of them all – xImpact storming into 3rd place at the death with 1000 points for that Cup win on Thursday, combining with his other results this past week to add up to a mammoth 1260-point haul in just four days. That all adds up to 3730 points and 3rd place for the season - considering they were down in 5th and looking pretty far adrift from the top 4, that's a mammoth turnaround for xImpact. The ever-consistent night_watch concludes his Challenger Series Delivered By Domino's season in 4th on 3510 points, ahead of DNG PadrePio 96 on 3290 points. Behind them the top-10 is completed by Diogo1906 on 2910 points, iiTZz MaXi on 2710 points, Krompe on 2640 points, BradleyHodgson on 2530 points and AngryxMiche on 2290 points.
Over on the PS4 table it's a similar story – the player who took the lead last week managed to see out the season atop the table. In this case though, Renzo Parave was almost caught at the death – finishing on 3700 points, only 100 points separated them and LostInTheWavez in 2nd. It was an almighty comeback effort from LostInTheWavez, who last week had slipped to 5th place a full 760 points behind Parave. But once again, that huge 1000-point payout for winning the Thursday cup proved pivotal; jumping all the way back up to 2nd at the death, and just one more good result or Cup entered this past week could've done it. Even so, both Parave and Wavez can be very pleased with their Challenger Series campaigns. Turbulance1 finished 3rd on 3260 points, ahead of Danny Taylor in 4th on 3170 points and Denisss on 2890 points completing the top-5.
The bottom half of the top-10 was an almighty scrap all the way to the end, with SpongeLikePonty snatching 6th place almost out of nowhere on 2610 points ahead of DAGNOLF96 on 2540 points. Serhatinhoo01 enjoyed a fantastic final week, with a Cup win on Tuesday helping them jump into the top-10 and finish 8th on 2475 points – a great way to end their debut Challenger Series Delivered By Domino's season. Lukas_1004 (2240 points) and Retegann (2185 points) complete the top-10.
Rocket League
The Rocket League table ended just as it has been for the past few weeks; as the Kassio, Rix Ronday and Borito B show. All three have absolutely dominated the Challenger Series Delivered By Domino's recently, taking Cup wins left and right and forming an invincible trio. And whilst we already knew of the incredible talent Ronday and Borito possessed – one does not simply fluke an Elite Series championship victory – it's Kassio that has been the real surprise package, starring alongside the all-star duo. After one last Cup win for the three this past Tuesday, Kassio takes top spot in the table on 5610 points just ahead of teammates Ronday on 5270 points and Borito on 5170. The latter two could only settle for 3rd and 4th though, as another Elite Series champion clinched 2nd place – the unstoppable Fairy Peak on 5460 points. The Renault Team Vitality standout took a Cup win on Monday and a runner-up finish on Wednesday to seal 2nd place in the table.
Behind those four, Mout completes the top-5 on 4810 points, with Speed_RL (4460), KayDop (4310), Yukeo (3350) and Kuxir97 (3070) taking spots 6th through 9th. Just sneaking into the top-10 at the death is the impressive Chausette45; entering only one event all week, they made it count by winning the Thursday cup and clinching 1000 points to jump into the final spot in the top-10 on 3000 points exactly.
Street Fighter V
The 'new leader' klaxon gets to sound one more time – we have one right at the last in SFV! And of course, who else was it going to be but the absolute legend of Elite Series (and former champion!) that is Hurricane. A fantastic final week including a runner-up finish on Monday and most importantly, a win in the Thursday Cup means he racks up 1278 points in the final week of competition and finishes top on 4588 points. Fear not, fans; his presence in the Challenger Series Delivered By Domino's is not a sign that he isn't a part of exceL anymore. Far from it; he remains a vital part of their roster. Moreover, take his strong performances more as him staying fresh for the upcoming Elite Series season, whilst sending a huge message to future rivals along the way. Come at the king, and you'd better not miss.
Speaking of the rest of the table, the entire top-5 is comprised of Elite Series veterans; longtime leader NastyNas finishes 2nd on 4525 points, a miniscule 63 points behind Hurricane, followed by Verdoyance on 4479 points, Shivs on 4005 points and JonesArcade on 3244 points. Naught and Manxas represent the newer breed of talent in 6th and 7th on 3152 and 3073 points respectively, followed by the ever-presents Gun Slinga and Boltstrike in 8th and 9th with 2683 and 2641 points, and OneStepLayered rounds out the top-10 on 2551 points.
So that's it! Season 4 of our Gfinity Challenger Series Delivered By Domino's is complete, and it's been another fascinating campaign. We don't envy the talent scouts and recruiters for our competing franchises – they are more than spoiled for choice when it comes to talent. And that Elite Series Draft is not far away now. Keep it locked on the Gfinity socials for updates on when the Elite Series Draft will take place – we'll have it all covered for you.
