- Quick Answer: Gears of War: E-Day will be a sponsor at the upcoming WWE Triplemania event, indicating a possible release window.
With a new head and many changes underway, Xbox is going through a transition period in this post-Phil Spencer era. In the games department, the company is set to launch new entries for some of its most popular franchises this year, with Gears of War: E-Day being one of them.
Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide and the WWE recently announced the dates for its upcoming Triplemania 2026 event, which will take place on September 11 and September 13 in Ciudad de México, Mexico.
As spotted by GamesRadar, the kicker is that Gears of War: E-Day will be the main sponsor for the event, with the game's logo appearing momentarily at the end of the trailer. This would indicate that the game's marketing will be in full swing in September, meaning the release date should be around those days.
A release in September or even early October would make a lot of sense, especially because no one wants to compete with GTA 6 and many developers are opting to move out of the way or release their titles as far away as possible.
The game was originally announced in June 2024 with a cinematic trailer during that year's Xbox Game Showcase. Now, exactly two years later, the game will have its own presentation right after this year's Xbox Game Showcase on June 7. Among other things, we expect to see a confirmation of the game's release date during the presentation.
E-Day will be the seventh main entry in the franchise and will be a prequel, recapping the events of Emergence Day through the eyes of a younger Marcus Fenix. The title is being developed with Unreal Engine 5 and will release on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
