Looks like the rumours were true. Following reports that the latest Sonic game - previously nicknamed Sonic 2022 - would be unveiled during The Game Awards 2021, Sega has officially lifted the lid on Sonic Frontiers, their latest mainline entry.
Described as an "open-zone-inspired" game, Sonic Frontiers mixes traditional Sonic gameplay with an open-world approach. Set within the Starfall Islands, this reveal showcased various different areas, including forests and waterfalls.
