The upcoming Fortnite x The Simpsons-themed season is set to be a massive crossover for the battle royale. Not only will the season be entirely inspired by the beloved Matt Groening creation, it'll be a complete takeover of the Fortnite island: players will be able to loot and shoot all over a fully cel-shaded Springfield.
As we approach the start of the final season before Chapter 7 kicks off, more leaks from reliable sources have started popping up on social media. NotPalo first mentioned that the entire island would turn into Springfield, with a Nuclear Plant POI and many more making their way to the battle royale.
Now, on October 20, more leaks surfaced stating that the entire map would be completely cel-shaded. It's going to be an ambitious takeover, but one that will be looking to pay a strong homage to an incredibly influential show.
On top of that, fans can also expect skins to populate the battle pass and the Fortnite Item Shop. Leaks have also suggested that mash-up skins will be a part of the collaboration, so there's a high likelihood we see a Simpsonsfied Jonesy skin.
A cel-shaded recreation of Springfield seems like the right thing to do. Some of the most iconic looks of the fictional city have been with this art style, particularly in video games.
In 2007, to coincide with the launch of The Simpsons Movie, EA developed The Simpsons Game, a cel-shaded action-adventure collect-a-thon that was generally well received.
Almost 20 years after its first big film outing, The Simpsons are set to return with a sequel. It's clear that partnering with Fortnite is the perfect way to put the franchise back in the mainstream.
When Does The Fortnite Simpsons Season Start?
The upcoming Fortnite x The Simpsons season is set to kick off on November 1 soon after Chapter 6 Season 4 ends.
Sadly (or luckily, if you're not a huge fan), The Simpsons takeover will be treated as a special mini-season rather than being Chapter 6 Season 5. It'll likely last around a month before Fortnite moves onto Chapter 7, completely revamping the island with brand-new POIs that will be evolving throughout the course of 2026 and beyond.
