Hours after a mysterious livestream of in-game CCTV footage of a South Korean street went live, Activision has released the first official trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, the next entry in the yearly franchise.
The trailer first shows a platoon of South Korean soldiers patrolling a busy street before stopping by a convenience store. All hell breaks loose when that area gets attacked by missiles, seemingly from North Korea.
Judging by later scenes in the trailer, it appears the North Korean regime will be the main antagonist in this story. Fictional characters will represent the North Korean government/military members, meaning we won't see any real-life people like Kim Jong Un.
We also get to see Price, who appears to be on the run and not with his Task Force 141 anymore. He gets reunited with Valeria, the character introduced in Modern Warfare 2 (2022) as El Sin Nombre. We do get a short reunion at the end, with Ghost telling Price that he "broke all our rules."
The trailer showcases most of the locations we'll be visiting in the campaign, from South Korea and North Korea to the streets of Paris, Mumbai, New York, and Russia.

Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to come out on October 23, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
