- Primary Subject: Dr. Disrespect Faked a Partnership With Marathon Ahead of Its Open Beta
- Key Update: Dr. Disrespect has faked a partnership for a second time, this time with the upcoming extraction shooter, Marathon.
- Status: Confirmed
- Last Verified: February 25, 2026
- Quick Answer: Dr. Disrespect has falsely claimed he is partnered with Bungie on Marathon, but the studio has denied any involvement.
Extraction shooter players are patiently waiting for Marathon's open beta weekend to kick off, and many content creators are also expected to participate thanks to a partnership deal with Bungie.
One creator who certainly doesn't have a deal with the studio is Dr. Disrespect, who claimed the opposite through his X account.
The creator claimed to have a partnership to stream the upcoming beta, adding a "#marathonpartner" hashtag to his post. Shortly after the post went live, writer and reporter Paul Tassi asked on his X account if the claim was real.
As you can see below, the dev team replied to his posts with a simple "he's not partnered" message, denying any involvement with the creator.
This comes almost a month after the creator tried to fake a partnership in the same manner with Highguard, the raid shooter developed by Wildlight Entertainment and announced at The Game Awards 2025, which launched on January 26.
It's not a surprise that Bungie quickly denied any involvement, as he has been blacklisted from the industry ever since it was revealed he had texted with a minor inappropriately. Disrespect was originally banned from Twitch in 2020, and the reason wasn't disclosed at the time.
Years later, in June 2024, a former Twitch employee revealed that the reason for this ban was that the creator used the platform's whisper system to message an underage viewer in 2017. The creator later admitted this publicly.
Marathon is officially scheduled to release on March 5, 2026, but everyone will have a chance to test it out via the open server slam happening from February 26 through March 2. If you are on PC and plan to test the game, we recommend checking the system requirements here.
