CWL Dallas - Group C Predictions

CWL Dallas - Group C Predictions

This weekend, over 170 of the world’s best Call of Duty teams will descend upon the Fort Worth Convention Centre in Dallas. The international event will feature a $200,000 prize pool, as well as a huge amount of Pro Points, which are set to play a significant role in who qualifies for the Global Pro League.

The vast majority of attending teams MLG Dallas will be fighting their way through the open bracket, however, sixteen professional teams have automatically qualified for the group stages of the event. Today, I'll look at Group C.

FaZe Clan

Clayster | Enable | Zooma | Attach

Following a second place finish at CWL Paris and a top six placement at CWL Atlanta, FaZe have been on the verge of victory for some time now. Currently sitting at third in the Pro Point standings, a good showing from the Red Militia will all but secure their spot in the Pro League.

Luminosity

Saints | Classic | Slacked | Octane

At CWL Paris, Casey “Pandur” Romano filled in for Renato “Saints” Forza, however, Luminosity were still able to finish within the top twelve teams, keeping them in the race for the Pro League. With Saints on the squad, this team is more than capable of performing at a top level and could easily replicate their top four placement from Atlanta.

Elevate

Reedy | Rated | Zed | Watson

After a disappointing top sixteen placement at CWL Paris, a roster change has reunited Rhys “Rated” Price with Jordan “Reedy” Reed. This new look Elevate roster now has the potential to make a huge impact on the international stage, and with the addition of Rated, they should be able to give the likes of FaZe and Luminosity a run for their money.

Fnatic

Tommey | Skrapz | Wuskin | SunnyB

Fnatic are a team who are on the rise. A solid performance at CWL Paris caught a lot of the more established teams by surprise, thanks to some great performances from Bradley “Wuskin” Marshall and Gurdip “SunnyB” Bains.

As a result, Tommey and co. will be looking for a decent placement in order to cement their place in the upcoming Pro League.

Prediction

1st: FaZe 3-0

2nd: Elevate 2-1

3rd: Luminosity 1-2

4th: Fnatic 0-3

In my opinion, FaZe should be able to take the top spot in the group with relative ease. If they can perform like they did in Paris, they have a real opportunity to win the event. As for the second spot in the group, it’s all to play for.

All three teams could make it through to the Championship Bracket, however, personally, I can see Elevate securing the second place in Group C. With the likes of TGC and Evil Geniuses in the Open Bracket, could they spring a surprise in the group?
