Crimson Desert's long-awaited DLC, Charting the Unknown, has finally been released - and it's bringing us plenty of features we've been waiting for.

Besides additional quests and underwater exploration, you'll also be able to date and marry NPCs. This is a feature players have been wanting since the game's launch, and now we'll finally be able to wed the characters we've long been crushing on.

Here's how to romance an NPC in Crimson Desert.

How to Romance a Character in Crimson Desert

The first step to figuring out if you can romance a character is to look for a heart-of-a-person-with-heart icon next to the Trust gauge in an NPC's interaction menu. If their heart is crossed out, then the NPC cannot be romanced. However, if it isn't, they are eligible - and yes, the four main Sanctum witches are available to be romanced.

Before romancing them, you need to earn their Trust and max it out to +100. To do so, you can gift them their favorite items, Gold Bars, or select empathetic dialogue options. Once their Trust hits +100, you can select the Flirt option. Make sure to do this early, as it's possible for the Trust score to lower.

Flirting has its own separate bar, so even if your Trust is at +100, your Romance gauge starts at 0. Constant, daily interactions such as chatting and gifts will steadily push this bar to +100. There are daily limits, so it will take several in-game days for your Romance to max out.

Once you are at maximum Romance with an NPC, you can select Propose to get married. After that, you and your chosen NPC will have a wedding, move in together, and experience several other benefits.
