New Modes
Excluding the Possession and Infected modes that arrived in the pre-season, here are all the modes announced for the first half of the season:
- Grind: Eliminate players, recover their dog tags, and take them to the Bank to score in Grind. There are two Bank on the map, and both teams can deposit their carried dog tags in either one. Operators can carry multiple dog tags and will drop all carried tags upon being eliminated. Swoop them up and drop them at the Bank to score big.
- Drop Zone: The rich get richer in Drop Zone, where teams fight to hold a single rotating objective. Periodic airdrops deliver Killstreak packages over the Drop Zone. Open them up for random Killstreaks you can use to defend your position or to break the enemy line the next time they have control of the Drop Zone.
- Gauntlet 1v1: The rich get richer in Drop Zone, where teams fight to hold a single rotating objective. Periodic airdrops deliver Killstreak packages over the Drop Zone. Open them up for random Killstreaks you can use to defend your position or to break the enemy line the next time they have control of the Drop Zone.
New DMZ Content
DMZ will also get some love with the first post-launch season, with a new map titled X01 coming to the extraction mode.

This is a weapons facility located at the northern border of North Korea. The map's interiors are expected to be closed quarters and ideal for constant fights, just like Building 21 in MW2 DMZ. Ghost is the watcher for operations on this map, meaning you will hear his voice throughout a match.
New enemies, items, and equipment are expected to be among the loot available on the map.
The FOB (Forward Operations Base) is getting the following improvements/additions:
- A new station will allow players to check the Season 1 battle pass and store.
- The vendor will provide access to additional weapons and gear if a player purchases the Season 1 BlackCell.
- Both Tae-Hyun and Chol-Min Lieutenants will have new intel, while Commanders like The Captain will be tougher.
Modern Warfare 4 is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through Steam and Battle.net.
