Call of Duty: Black Ops III Announced

It's one of the days in the gaming year, where millions of fans scream out in joy. The teaser trailer for the newest Call of Duty has been shown and Treyarch will be taking us back to the Black Ops story with Black Ops III.

Revealed in a trailer announced on 9th April, this marks the twelfth instalment of the Call of Duty franchise, and the fourth in the Black Ops Saga, following World at War, Black Ops and Black Ops II.

As is tradition, the teaser trailer offered us very little information surrounding the game itself, with the video focusing on minutes of messages and lines from previous titles converging around the silhouette of a person, which highly resembles the Black Ops II cover logo. However, we are presented with some concrete information towards the end of the trailer, as Treyarch officially confirmed the World Reveal will take place on Sunday, 26th April.

Obviously, not much is known about the game beyond the rumoured leaks and fan speculation, however there are still two weeks to go and already fans are attempting to decode every frame of the trailer, as they co-ordinate theories to be proven right or wrong when the day comes.

In fact, one budding enthusiast, @ThaTiemsz, has reportedly delved into the backend of the official Call of Duty website, leaking the Black Ops III description and key art (image shown above).

Call of Duty®: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most-played games in Call of Duty® history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare. With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever.

Despite the rumours and leaked information, at this moment in time, all we are able to guarantee is that the first Call of Duty game to be made by Treyarch, since the new three year rotation began between them, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer, will be Black Ops III.

Whether or not the game will feature the newly introduced exo-skeletons, Treyarch are the team responsible for arguably the most popular title in the franchise, Black Ops II, as well as the revolutionary game mode Zombies. Therefore we have the upmost faith that they have spent the last two years perfecting every aspect of our gaming experience.

Until then, let the mass speculation begin, as we revel in the official teaser trailer.
